One Last Hurrah: Lowbrow’s Last Bash

I remember the first time I walked into Lowbrow Palace. Wow, all the rumors were right; the new layout as compared to the previous Zeppelin’s was far superior in size and was now a multi layered venue. You can now stand in the pit, against the rails on the second level or hang up top by the bar. Anywhere you stood was good, and the focal point was the stage. Local artist came to life, while national and international known acts almost seemed surreal to witness and enjoy, thanks to the services of the Lowbrow.

Lowbrow is part of a handful of venues that support local original music and talent and host multiple touring acts from around the world. Come on El Paso, get out of that crap dive bar and stop playing that funky music—get hip to the local talent.

AC SLATER

Fear not people of the borderland, for the Lowbrow is not leaving us for good; they will be relocating and opening up soon, continuing on the nurture and providing the platform for El Paso, Juárez and the rest of the borderland’s artist with a place to hone their craft. But before they relocate, they’re going to have one final celebration, and it’s going to be a 2 day banger on Saturday September 1st and Sunday the 2nd—a proper farewell block party.

The 2-day event will feature El Paso artist of past and present, plus some of the regions best DJs. Lowbrow heavy hitters like a Great Shapes, The Other Half, Miijas, Pris and Acid Pie are no strangers to the Lowbrow stage, will mix it up with DJs such as Blaintrain, DJ BM, Trillo and the LNSC crew including Joe Nava, Rob Bass and Soul Bomber. The event will feature a ton of El Paso underground music scene favorites ranging from hip-hop, electro, indie, experimental and punk.

Le Butcherettes

Each night closes out with a bang. Mexican garage-punks Le Butcherettes will shred the stage to pieces and make your ears bleed—and you will love it. The group is no stranger to El Paso and always give an explosive set. The band will help close out the first night. Sunday night closes out with the king of heavy bass, world renowned DJ AC Slater from LA, providing the dance grooves. If your taste is bass, this is the place.

Tickets are available at splendidsunproductions.com and doors open at 6pm, all ages. Come say goodbye and celebrate a farewell to an awesome place. Never Forget.
