FUSION MAGAZINE issue No. 76 arrives with a new and improved format. Featuring the Australian duo The Presets on the cover, which will be performing their unique music and light show this November 9th at Tricky Falls in El Paso Texas.
Across the border we had a chat with Sonido Cachimbo as they painted our pages with their exotic Tropicumbia; along with them, we have the relaxing beach-like sounds of Caloncho, a musician from Obregon, Sonora, who talked to us about his most recent material, his awards and latest Grammy nominations.
In the culture section we have an article about Germán Genaro Cipriano Castillo Valdés, better known as Tin-Tan; comedian, singer, actor and endearing character who lived most of his life in Cd. Juarez and is now an important part of Mexican film history. We also have an interesting story about colonization from the perspective of the natives themselves in the article “Our Land, Our History”.
In music we have the Mexico City based band Frenzy, which released a new album this month. We also spoke with The Irrepressibles, who come with all their passion, love and disturbed music and speaking of disturbed, we also have an artistic look into an abandoned psychiatric hospital in our article “Espectros a Color”. In our Lost and Found section, we’re introducing a classic album as every month; and on the Fusion Gallery, you’ll find Raul Gonzalez aka Raul The Third’s work along with all of his Mexican-American art that is full of colors and references to a Mexico from a few decades ago.
