Before last Saturday Pissing Razors had not performed on the big stage for more than 10 years, which in metal years seems like a millenium. But time has indeed been kind to the metal groove masters. They were in full effect July 11th at Tricky Falls.
The quartet devastated the crowd with a robust mix of old favorites and some newer stuff. Newest member, bassist Geo Gomez, ripped it with heavy, adrenaline-drenched riffs. Guitarist Mat Lynch’s playing has only gotten better through the years. His technique and skill were dynamic and potent. Drummer Eddy Garcia was like a virtuosic Animal, with lighting-quick hands and feet that mastered the kit like a beast. And last but not least, Joe Rodriguez’ vocals were powerful and aggresssive, and he has an unparalleled ability to effortlessly switch from the iconic death growl to a melodic, smooth singing style.
This is a band not to be missed!
