FUSION MAGAZINE #106 – NEON DESERT MUSIC FEST 2018

Art and music lovers rejoice! Neon Desert Music Festival is back Memorial Day weekend and Fusion Mag is here to preview coverage!

Gracing our cover is the work of multi-talented artist EXIST1981. You’ve probably seen his work at various establishments in and around El Paso. He’s responsible for PDA, an art gallery and retail space in downtown EP, and he also curates the live painting and art gallery at NDMF.

Additionally, we highlight the work of San Diego based artist Carly Ealey, muralist and illustrator Birdcap as well as west coast artist Nicholas McPherson—all whom are set to paint live with EXIST at NDMF.

This year’s diverse music line-up includes hometown punk heroes At The Drive-In along with electronic music producers Martin Garrix and Dillon Francis, rappers Gucci Mane and Lil Wayne, as well as Spanish rock icons Café Tacuvba and Bomba Estério!

We feature one of El Paso’s favorite bands The Drums and we speak to singer/songwriter Johnny Pierce about a decade of making music. We interview Quique Rangel, bassist for mega rock giants Café Tacvba, about returning to the border to perform in front of an audience that embraces them so much. This month’s local love goes out to El Paso band The Swell Kids. They’ll be reppin’ local talent at NDMF.

Pick us up at any of our local distribution points now and don’t forget to follow us on Instagram for live coverage of this year’s NDMF. Rock on!
