Christin Apodaca was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. Apodaca found an interest in drawing when she was in high school and later studied art in college. She attended UTEP for a couple of years before transferring to the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art with a concentration in painting and drawing.
Her time in New Mexico was consumed by amazing people and a lot of time spent working in the studio on campus. After moving back to El Paso in 2014, she began volunteering at a local non-profit called Creative Kids and after a few months there became a teaching artist.
Apodaca’s talent can be seen all over town. She has completed his first commissioned piece that hangs on the first floor of Hotel Indigo, has a rotating gallery of works that hang at Trade Craft, is part of Art En Vivo hosted by Proper Print Shop, has done work for Deadbeach Brewery, created a painting at this year’s Neon Desert Music Festival, completed her first mural that is located inside of Dream Chasers Club, a personal mural that’s a part of the cafe inside Joe Vinny and Bronsons, painted a commissioned wall piece for Mom’s Fresh Juice and also painted a large wall mural inside of Barmen. Aside from commercial pieces, Apodaca continues to make personal work to eventually share with others in smaller gallery shows and exhibits.
