Fusion Fix: 10 El Paso Must-Do Events in March

It’s already March y’all! Didn’t it feel like January sort of droned on, then February went by in a snap? Let that be a lesson and don’t let time slip by! Enjoy this month with your favorite people and make the most of St. Patrick’s Day fun and celebrating the leading ladies in your life; it’s Women’s History Month, after all!

Also, in case you missed it, Neon Desert Music Festival released their stellar lineup for 2018, which will feature Martin Garrix, At the Drive-In, Gucci Mane and Dillon Francis as the headliners. Make sure to follow Fusion Magazine on Instagram for behind-the-scenes action during the festival.

Alright folks, let’s get this Fusion Fix on a roll! Here’s all the events you NEED to be at this month:

Viva La Musica!

La Parada – The Return, March 2

One of El Paso’s favorite music and art party is back! Always held on the first Friday of the month at the San Carlos Building in Downtown El Paso, the al fresco event was on hold briefly during the winter months. Thanks to El Paso’s mild winter, the fun is back in a big way! The Chamanas, Elements, Vinn-E & Rich, Vivotropical and Mock the Zuma will be providing the live tunes, and Ashes & Fernrok of Sicstudio will be providing the visuals. Let’s groove together on March 2, starting at 5 pm!

Gila Monster

Red Light Cameras, Sleepspent, Gila Monster, FrenZi at The Perch, March 9

Albuquerque band Red Light Cameras come back to El Paso to headline an all-indie band showcase at The Perch on March 9, at 9 pm. Local support from Sleepspent, Gila Monster and FrenZi.

#8TOUR 💛

Incubus, March 23

Legendary alternative rockers Incubus are headed to El Paso for a FREE, all ages show at Speaking Rock on March 23. We imagine the show will get crazy packed early, but those of you who are rabid fans might want to camp out early. Gates open at 5 pm. Vayan con Dios.

St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations

Lucky & Lit featuring OOKAY

Get lucky on St. Patricks Day at Tricky Falls while dancing the night away to deliciously lit trap beats by OOKAY. The California-based DJ is no stranger to the Sun City and his shows are known to reach capacity fast, so make sure to get out there early.

St. Paddy’s Day Block Party

Central El Paso is about to get even more magical on St. Patrick’s Day thanks to the 5 Points Bistro and Aviators Pub & Grub! Check out their family-friendly Block Party starting at 2 pm. The fest will feature horses, carnival-style rides, bounce houses and -of course-plenty of green beer and drink specials.

KLAQ St. Patty’s Day Party

95.5 KLAQ is throwing an all-out rock-fest on St. Patrick’s Day at the Rockhouse Bar & Grill featuring 17 local and national bands, Guinness Green Beer stations, food trucks and giveaways. Some of the bands you can expect are Kyng, Hyperfire, Brother Strange and Texas Voodoo Stomp just to name a few. Party starts at 12 pm and tickets are $15 at the door.

Celebrating the Ladies

CIFIKA at Neon Rose

Hailing all the way from South Korea, Electronic artist CIFIKA will be performing live at Neon Rose on March 13 at 7 pm. Make sure to come out and support; not only is her 2018 U.S. tour the longest attempted by any Korean act, but this tour also marks her first foray into the American market. facebook.com/cifikafika

Colores de Mexico

Thought we’d throw a little wildcard in the March Fusion Fix so that you can get out and experience a little history behind our Borderland cultura. The Mexican Consulate in partnership with the Damas Charras of El Paso – Las Cruces are putting together a neat exhibit that opens on March 8 and ends on March 29. Check it out and learn something new!

General Fun

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World Movie Party, March 8

If you’ve yet to go to an Alamo Drafthouse Movie Party, what are you waiting for?! Start breaking the fourth wall on March 8 with bubbles you can blow during romantic scenes and gold coins to toss when Ramona’s evil exes get eliminated.

Franklin Mountains Poppy Fest

End the month on a beautiful note with the annual Franklin Mountains Poppy Fest at Castner Range on March 31. This event is a huge hit and most folks park at the EPCC Transmountain campus and take the free shuttle to the event. You can expect cultural dances, great food trucks, hikes led by experts in wildlife, museum tours and more. facebook.com/FranklinMountainsPoppiesFest
