Rock 105 is about to rock the art world with the first “Rock 105 Classic Rock Art Show & Sale”, Friday, September 21st through Sunday, September 23rd, 2012 at the Bassett Place Mall, (located in front of the Café Plaza), 6101 Gateway West in El Paso from 10:00 a.m.  – 9:00 p.m. (12:00 noon – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday).  The Rock Art show is free and open to the public.  Every piece of art is also available to purchase.

The “Rock 105 Classic Rock Art Show & Sale” showcases an amazing collection of works featuring musicians such as Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Ron Wood, Paul McCartney,  Jerry Garcia, John Entwistle (The Who), Bob Dylan, Santana, Robby Krieger (The Doors), Tony Bennett, The Police, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jon Anderson (Yes), John Lennon, Ringo Starr, U2 and dozens more plus rock photographs from sessions including Pink Floyd, Aerosmith, The Doors, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Bon Jovi, Johnny Cash and more. The “Rock 105 Classic Rock Art Show & Sale” also features gold records, animation art, concert tour posters and more.

Ron Campbell, director of the legendary Saturday morning Beatles Cartoon series that aired on ABC from September 25, 1965 through April 20, 1969 and animator on the Beatles film Yellow Submarine will make a rare personal appearance at the “Rock 105 Classic Rock Art Show & Sale”  throughout the entire show.  Yellow Submarine was recently restored and rereleased on Blu-Ray, exposing an entire new generation to the classic Beatles film.  In his book, Up Periscope, Yellow Submarine Producer Al Brodax gives Ron Campbell a great deal of credit for saving the movie Yellow Submarine and tying it all together at the last minute.  Ron will have many of his original Beatles paintings on sale created specially for this show as well as give attendees a live demonstration of his painting.

In addition to his Beatles past, Ron has been involved with some of the most beloved cartoons including, Scooby Doo, Krazy Kat, George of the Jungle, The Jetsons, The Flintstones, the Smurfs, Goof Troop, Rugrats, Winnie the Pooh, Ed, Edd & Eddy and dozens more.

Some of the other many highlights of the “Rock 105 Classic Rock Art Show & Sale” include a special exhibit of Led Zeppelin photographs and lithographs taken by prominent rock photographers including a rare posed shot of the band sitting in a chair at the Riot House on Sunset Boulevard and a magazine cover shot of Plant & Page that was purchased at our Rock Art Show by Robert Plant himself!  Other incredible pieces include an extremely rare hand signed lithograph from Bob Dylan (never released in America), a newly discovered panoramic photo of the Allman Brothers, taken during the first few days of their formation by Rolling Stone Magazine first chief photographer Baron Wolman (the photo is included in Gregg Allman’s new book) and a series of early photographs of Bruce Springsteen, taken in the 70s when Bruce was still playing the club circuit.
