“Mascara vs Cabellera” A unique vision of Mexican wrestling

Agroup of artist from Chihuahua and Mexico City lead an exhibit called “Mascara vs Cabellera”—a unique vision of wrestling through paintings, drawings, photography and costumes will be on display giving insight into the surreal world of Mexican Wresting Culture.

The exhibit will be at the Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts (MCCLA) in San Francisco, CA, and will feature the works of Miguel Valverde, Raul Kigra, Gonzalo Lopez, Rosalio Vera, Great Satan and Chrystian Cymet.

Opening: Friday, August 10, 2018 6:30pm to 9pm – $5 – 2nd floor gallery Runs through September 8, 2018 Tuesday to Saturday • 10am to 5pm.
“Visions of wrestling captured in paintings, drawings, photography, and apparel illustrate the rich surreal world of Mexican wrestling culture. Where the fight revolves around the theory of triumph and defeat. Where each combat and movement ends in a battle polarized by a duality between good and evil. This exhibit focuses on the history of the Mexican wrestling aesthetic, and its importance in popular culture.”
Un grupo de varios artistas Chihuahuenses y de la CDMX encabeza la exposición llamada: “Mascara vs Cabellera” en el Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts (MCCLA), en la ciudad de San Francisco, California, este evento contara con la obra de varios artistas como: Miguel Valverde, Raul Kigra, Gonzalo López, Rosalío Vera, Gran Satan y Chrystian Cymet.
