Here at Fusion we often collaborate with artists to design our covers. Almost always the artists we collaborate with have an incredible ability to listen to our ideas and bring them to life exactly as we imagine them. As is the case with the very talented Carlos Esparza—who, with the guidance of our Creative Director, Rafael Revilla, knocked our 80th cover out of the park! Our featured cover pays tribute to El Paso radio station, KLAQ, who is responsible for putting together Balloonfest, an annual festival that incorporates hot air balloons and rock concerts at a water park on Memorial Day weekend. Balloonfest has been rocking the Sun City for 30 years now! Below is the illustration process and ideas we came up with for the cover. Check it out!
