THE BARBED WIRE OPEN MIC SERIES

Our mission is to provide performance space for the people in the El Paso/Juarez area.

The BWOMS is a multilingual event that celebrates free speech through the arts, and that allows community members a platform from which they can express their poetic perspectives and unique voices. Whether you come out to perform, or to just enjoy the art, it’s FREE and fun for everybody!

The Barbed Wire Open Mic Series (BWOMS), founded by Verónica Guajardo and Trent Hudley, now under the BorderSenses umbrella, has provided performance space for poets, musicians, artists, dancers and thinkers since 2007. Our event is hosted the last Saturday of each month by the BWOM Crew.

This month we are going to create beautiful vibes with an all-acoustic show at The Root Yoga Studio (501 Texas Avenue). As always, its FREE.
Hope to see everyone there.

*Open mic performers get 5 minutes to perform their best stuff.

*This is an acoustic show. No mics. No amps. Just your voice and your instruments.Anyone can perform any type of artistic expression at this event. This includes poetry, freestyle rap, music, comedy, drama, prose, visual art, or any other type creative expression. It’s basically a variety show that features the people of our community.
