This place is a modern barber shop with a vintage flair catering to all types of hair needs for the ever evolving style-conscious culture in El Paso.

We’re trying to stay like the old-school type of barber shop. I remember my dad going to Juarez and getting his hair cuts. He’d come out with his nose all shiny and his haircut, and his beard all trimmed—his shoes all shiny. I thought vintage would be good because you don’t see that a lot anymore,” says Baca.

Customer service and establishing a clientele base is high priority with this group. As you walk in you’re greeted and seated by friendly staff that earns its means trimming beards, straight razor shaves, turning out fades, buzzcuts, hot towels and custom styles you normally don’t get at your average hair salon.

The prices are more than reasonable with haircuts starting out at 15 bucks for adults and 10 bucks for kids. Custom designs are $25 for adults and $20 for kids. Straight shaves and edge up’s are $10 and shave and a haircut at $20.

We’re wanting to stay with low prices because we’re more interested in getting our clientele than making money,” says Yolanda.

Vintage Barber Shop is done up with vintage decor, striking red barber chairs, and a fantastic photo gallery of a few pop icons you may recognize—like Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, James Dean and Johnny Cash to name a few.

My son did all this, I mean, we did it together but he put mostly everything together,” said Baca.
