UTEP art students close to receive a $15,000 in national Printmaking competition

El Paso, TX – UTEP’s fine art students are given the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards for El Paso Chapter competition of the National Society of Arts and Letters. This year’s competition called all printmakers from the nation for a chance to win $15,000.

The three Printmaking students submitted their portfolio competing against each other and other students from Texas and New Mexico. Fortunately, the third place was awarded to Cynthia Evans, the second place to Cleo Arevalo, and the first place to Nabil Gonzalez, all from El Paso.

The National Society of Arts and Letters in a non-profit volunteer organization that supports and assists young artists through art competitions and other career opportunities. Our very own Nabil Gonzalez will head off to the nationals representing El Paso Chapter in Pittsburg on May 18, 2013 to compete against the other 18  1st place chapter winners for the $15,000 award.
