Fusion Magazine hits a milestone this month publishing our 75th issue! In celebration we feature an illustrated cover made by artist Rafael Rodríguez “Pachiclón” highlighting the second annual Sun City Craft Beer Festival 2014. In this issue we had the opportunity to speak with SCCBF organizer, Nahum Avila, about everything having to do with this year’s beer fest. We also speak with Big Bend Brewing Company’s very own brew master Steve Anderson about his start with brewing beer and his involvement with BBBC. Continuing on the subject of beer we feature a column by our newest Fusion contributor, Adrian Perez, who is best known as The El Paso Beer Snob. In his column he talks about craft beer’s rise in popularity in El Paso, TX.
Also highlighted is this year’s Sunset Heights Block Party which takes place every October in historic Sunset Heights located in between downtown El Paso and the University of Texas—El Paso. We also highlight OSAPLE—a cultural collective of people who positively promote El Paso, TX, with various marketing campaigns.
We have exclusive interviews with R&B/Rapper, Tory Lanez, who will be performing at the Lowbrow Palace Oct. 4., Daedelus—who spoke with us about the DJ and the future of electronic music, Mayan contemporary dancer Javier Dzul-Chiquini amongst others.
This month’s The Lost and Found column presents The Lemonheads 1992 LP It’s A Shame About Ray. Our Fusion Gallery features the art of Nancy Gabriel and her project “Falsas Necesidades” (False Necessities).
