La Parada is an ongoing Arts, Music, & Social Party held every First Friday of the month in Downtown El Paso. A grassroots festival representing the local culture and lifestyles of the borderland & the Southwest. Each and every month “La Parada” features and showcases a revolving roster of local and national talent; live dj sets, performances, live art and cold drinks.
La Parada celebrated its 2 year anniversary on a rainy Friday September 7, 2012. Headlining the event was hip hop producer DJ Houseshoes from Detroit, MI. Other featured acts included El Paso’s own electronic rock duo Bulletproof Tiger as well as DJ Skrause (UK bass/hip hop) from Dallas, TX. Although the weather was not favorable to the outdoor event, the music never stopped and enthusiastic attendees danced in the rain.
