The heat and humidity was thick this past weekend in downtown Austin, TX, but that didn’t keep the masses from swarming the streets walking miles and miles down Barton Springs Rd. towards Zilker Park just to see their favorite musicians perform at weekend 2 of Austin City Limits Music Festival 2015!

The 3-day music fest drew thousands and thousands of music lovers from all over the world, and brought together an eclectic combination of musical performances by rock giants Foo Fighters, rapper Drake, progressive house and music producer deadmau5, country music pioneer Dwight Yoakam, indie rock band Florence + The Machine and many more.

Highlight performances included the Foo Fighters—Dave Grohl’s injured right leg didn’t keep him from rocking out and putting together a badass 2 hour set which included all of their classic songs like “Everlong,” “My Hero,” “All My Life” and they even of covered Pink Floyd’s “In The Flesh?”.

TV on the Radio played a passionate set that included songs from their most recent albums Seeds and Nine Types of Light as well as hit songs “Young Liars,” and “Wolf Like Me” from their Return to Cookie Mountain album.

Modest Mouse, Hozier, Sounds Del Mar, Sturgill Simpson, Flosstradamus, Alessia Cara—all played noteworthy sets that stood out in our mind.

Florence + The Machine, though, stole the entire weekend with an incredible show! They performed hit songs “Ship to Wreck,” “Shake it Out,” and “Dog Days Are Over” as well as many more from their exclusive repertoire.

The preparation and effort was impressive by ACL staff providing festival goers with certain amenities that made the experience even sweeter—everything from medical services, free water, shade, food vendors, games, security, art market, phone re-charge stations as well as festival re-entry to name a few. Our favorite was their Rock N’ Recycle program that allowed festival goers the opportunity to earn a t-shirt by filling up a large plastic bag with recyclables.

This was our very first trip out to ACL Music Festival and it certainly won’t be the last. We had a fantastic time documenting and soaking in the overwhelming music nostalgia that weekend 2 provided.

Below is a photo re-cap of ACL Music Festival Weekend 2.
