A Place to Bury Strangers

A Place to Bury Strangers live at The Lowbrow Palace

A Place to Bury Strangers completely blew my mind the very first time I saw them back in 2012 at The Lowbrow Palace—3 years later, they totally made me realize that they are one of the best bands to have ever played in El Paso. The lights went out, the fog machine kicked in and filled the room so much you could barely see the band over the frenetic strobe lights and light beams. The music was intense—feedback, heavy drone and yes very loud. Mattox, one of the best local bands from this area, opened the night with such an amazing set; so energetic as usual. Creepoid, a pretty mellow shoegaze band, played before APTBS, their set was about 35 minutes long, and honestly, every song they played made me have chills all over my back.
